“Why should white guys have all the fun?”
In the 50’s, a young Reginald Lewis asked “why should white guys have all the fun?” He lived his life through his answer, “They shouldn’t!” Lewis got into to Harvard Law School without applying, built a successful corporate law firm, and went on to be the first Black man to own and run a billion-dollar company.
I’m grateful for reading Lewis’s story because his attitude, struggles, and triumphs in life show what it takes to be relentless in the pursuit of achievement. Lewis accomplished everything that he set his mind to. In the many times that things went wrong, he took full responsibility to make them right. He remained committed to both his work and family, and chose to think creatively rather than compromise.
